In Lima: A hotel pickup will take you for a guided tour of Lima, covering the main attractions such as the historical center, San Martin Republican Square, and the iconic Plaza de Armas, which is the jewel of Lima’s historical district. You will also visit the Convent of San Francisco and its Catacombs. The tour continues to the modern district of Miraflores, featuring the emblematic Park of Love, offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The guided city tour lasts about 4 hours.

After the tour, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Chiclayo in northern Peru.

In Chiclayo: Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your selected hotel. Overnight stay in Chiclayo.

Meals: Breakfast.

To Huaca Rajada and The Royal Tombs of Sipan: Join a guided tour to Huaca Rajada, the archaeological site of the Lord of Sipan, located 35 km southeast of Chiclayo (about 45 minutes by car). The tomb was discovered in 1987, revealing the intact remains of a Mochica lord. This discovery provides insight into the burial rituals of a Mochica ruler, accompanied by a warrior, a priest, two women, a child, a dog, and a llama, along with numerous gold and silver ornaments decorated with turquoise and lapis lazuli. The complex consists of a funerary platform and two truncated adobe pyramids from the Mochica culture (1st to 6th centuries AD).

Visiting Tucume Pyramids: Located 33 km from Chiclayo, Túcume is home to the Valley of the Pyramids, a significant pre-Inca site in Peru. The area features numerous adobe pyramids built around the sacred Mount La Raya, providing opportunities for archaeological expeditions, participation in ancient rituals, and interaction with local traditions.

During your visit, you will engage with local artisans in textile and pottery workshops, participate in religious festivities, and sample delicious local cuisine.

Museum of Royal Tombs of Sipan: Take a guided tour of this expansive concrete pyramid that allows you to experience the archaeological discoveries of the Sipan tombs. Starting on level 3, you will learn about the archaeological finds and the social structure, religion, and politics of the Mochica culture. On level 2, see photographs capturing the exact moments of the tombs’ discovery, including a faithful reproduction of the Lord of Sipan’s grave, complete with his wooden coffin adorned with gold and other precious metals, as well as his concubines, sacrificed slaves, a child, and a dog.

Continuing to level 1, you will encounter the oldest lord of Sipan and view stunning jewelry, particularly ornaments made of gold depicting animal deities like crabs and octopuses, believed to hold significance. Finally, you will enter a large room showcasing a recreation of a ceremony led by the Lord of Sipan, accompanied by dummies representing his entourage and local musical instrument sounds. Overnight stay in Chiclayo.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch.

Trip to Trujillo: A timely hotel pickup will take you to the bus terminal for a 3-hour journey to Trujillo.

Chan Chan Mud Temple: Visit one of the largest clay citadels globally, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This impressive sanctuary of the Chimú culture features several palaces that once housed Chimú kings. During the guided tour, you’ll walk through its narrow streets and admire stunning high-relief decorations of fish, waves, fishing nets, pelicans, and otters. Our local guide will share insights into the remarkable achievements of these cultures, and you’ll have time to photograph archaeological relics over 1,000 years old. Next, your local guide will lead you through the most significant and well-preserved sections of the citadel, detailing the history of Chan Chan. Finally, visit the Chan Chan Site Museum, showcasing various archaeological remains from the area and life-sized depictions of daily life in Chimú culture.

Sun & Moon Pyramids: Discover the Huacas del Sol and La Luna, massive pyramids built over 1,500 years ago. Your guide will take you to the heart of the Pyramid of the Moon, revealing the fascinating world of the Moche culture. Explore the different levels of the pyramid and observe impressive high-relief scenes depicting the god Ai-Apaec and other deities, who were silent witnesses to ancient ceremonies and human sacrifices. You will also visit a family of artisans to learn about the sculptural ceramics produced by the Mochicas over 1,500 years ago.

Huanchaco Historic District: A charming and relaxing beach town near Trujillo, Huanchaco boasts lively boulevards, fishing boats, and a vibrant surf culture. It is recognized as an International Surfing Reserve, making it a popular destination for both visitors and locals to enjoy surfing, swimming, and fishing. Overnight stay in Trujillo.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch.

Towards Paracas Bay: After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken to the terminal for a double-decker bus trip to Paracas Bay. Overnight stay in Paracas.

Meals: Breakfast.

In Paracas: Start with a boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, often referred to as the Peruvian Galápagos. These rocky islands, which are only accessible by boat, are famous for their diverse wildlife, including birds (such as goslings, partridges, and cormorants), Humboldt penguins, dolphins, and sea lions that occupy the beaches. The tour lasts about 90 minutes and is much more affordable than visiting the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador.

Visit Ica’s Sand Dunes and the Huacachina Oasis: Begin your guided visit at a local winery that produces Pisco. You will learn about the Pisco production process and tour the cellar with a staff member. Afterward, guests can taste various types of Pisco and wines produced there. Next, visit the Regional Museum of Ica, one of the most significant museums on Peru’s southern coast, showcasing fascinating artifacts from different cultures in the region. Finally, head to Huacachina, a picturesque oasis located 5 km from Ica’s center, where you can relax and capture beautiful photos. The massive dunes surrounding the lagoon allow visitors to enjoy sandboarding, a thrilling sport popular in this region.

Consider taking a dune buggy tour to enhance your experience and surf on the sand—perfect for adventure enthusiasts!

When the time comes, you will transfer to the terminal for a 2-hour bus trip to Nazca. Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the bus terminal and taken to your selected hotel. Overnight stay in Nazca.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch.

The Nazca Lines are massive geoglyphs etched into the arid plateau of the Nazca desert, stretching about eighty kilometers between Nazca and Palpa in southern Peru. There are over 300 distinct designs, including stylized representations of local animals like whales, parrots, a 180-meter-long lizard, hummingbirds, condors, and a giant 45-meter-long spider. The geoglyphs comprise more than 10,000 lines, some measuring 30 meters wide and extending over 9 kilometers, making them clearly visible from the air or nearby hills. The figures include trees, wings, an astronaut alligator, and various animals, showcasing the ancient inhabitants’ remarkable geometric knowledge.

When the time comes, you will transfer to the bus terminal for a double-decker bus trip to Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken to your selected hotel. Overnight stay in Arequipa.

Meals: Breakfast.

Exploring Arequipa: Since 2000, Arequipa has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city’s charm comes from its blend of Spanish and indigenous cultures, evident in its unique architecture. Known as the “White City” due to the color of its buildings, you will visit the famous Santa Catalina Monastery and admire the impressive cathedral in Plaza de Armas. During this guided tour, you’ll explore the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a massive colonial complex that occupies an entire neighborhood, surrounded by stunning walls. The main square has retained its historical charm, resembling an outdoor museum of sillar architecture.

Trip to Chivay (Colca Canyon): This journey allows you to experience one of Peru’s most spectacular attractions: the Colca Valley and Colca Canyon. The first stop is at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where you may spot wildlife like vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas. Next, visit the Mirador de los Volcanes to admire various volcanoes that exceed 5,000 meters, including Misti, Chachani, Pichupichu, Hualcahualca, Sabancaya, Chucura, and the Cordillera de Chila. Arrive in Chivay, with the option to visit thermal baths in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Chivay.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

The Colca Canyon Excursion: Today, you will visit several Andean towns, including Yanque, Maca, and Pinchollo, for photo opportunities and short visits. The highlight of the tour is the stop at Cruz del Cóndor, where you can see the magnificent Andean Condor—a truly spectacular sight! Afterward, you will return to Chivay, where you’ll have free time to explore the village and enjoy the thermal baths. Overnight stay in Chivay.

Meals: Breakfast.

Trip to Llachon Community by Private Car: This scenic route takes you through charming towns and along a beautiful lagoon called Lagunillas, where trout farms are visible. If you’re lucky, you might spot Andean flamingos and other birds. A key highlight of this journey is the burial towers of Sillustani, impressive cylindrical structures built long before the Incas. These towers are among the finest examples of ancient cylindrical constructions in Peru, unmatched elsewhere in South America. If time allows, an optional tour of Sillustani will provide insights into pre-Inca civilizations, along with breathtaking views of Umayo Lagoon, situated at the foot of Sillustani.

Upon arrival in Llachon, enjoy fantastic views of the lake and short hikes to scenic hills and ancestral ceremonial sites. The peninsula is home to about 1,300 residents, belonging to the Quechua ethnic group.

To Ticonata Island and Its Mummies: A short boat trip will take you to Ticonata Island, where several archaeological remains have been discovered, including funeral baskets, mummies, and ceremonial vessels. Many of these artifacts are displayed in the Tiahuanaco Museum located on the island. Overnight stay in the Llachon community homestay.
