DAY 1:

Arrival in Lima: Begin Your Peruvian Adventure

Upon your arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our representative and taken to your chosen hotel via private transfer. Today, you’ll venture into the Sacred Valley (9,186 ft / 2,800 m), an area treasured by the Incas for its fertile lands and mild climate. The journey starts early, with a visit to the ancient town of Pisac (9,514 ft / 2,900 m), where you’ll explore the archaeological ruins and bustling market. From there, pass through the picturesque towns of Coya (9,514 ft / 2,900 m), Lamay (9,186 ft / 2,800 m), and Calca (9,514 ft / 2,900 m) as you travel along the Vilcanota River (9,514 ft / 2,900 m).

Stop in Urubamba (9,420 ft / 2,870 m) for lunch, then continue to Ollantaytambo (9,160 ft / 2,791 m), where you’ll explore the impressive Inca fortress and terraces. Enjoy an overnight stay in Ollantaytambo, surrounded by the beauty of the Sacred Valley.

Upon reaching Aguas Calientes, nestled at the foot of Machu Picchu (7,972 ft / 2,430 m), you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel for an overnight stay. Prepare for tomorrow’s adventure to the Lost City of the Incas.

Start the day with a bus ride up to Machu Picchu (7,972 ft / 2,430 m), one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. After a brief introduction, embark on the thrilling hike to Huayna Picchu (8,920 ft / 2,720 m), known as “Young Peak” in Quechua. Only 200 visitors are allowed to climb this towering mountain daily, offering a rare chance to explore the terraces and temples at the summit.

Afterward, return to Machu Picchu (7,972 ft / 2,430 m) for a comprehensive guided tour of the site, including the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Royal Quarters, and other key locations. Don’t miss the view from the Sun Gate (8,923 ft / 2,720 m), where the first rays of the sun hit the citadel each morning.

Our porters carry your gear, prepare your meals, set up our camp tents, and take care of you while you relax.

We provide our porters for free with: jackets, sun hats, warm hats, shirts, pants, hiking boots, comfortable travel bags, canteens, back support belts, sleeping bags, mattresses, and travel insurance. All are hired from isolated communities, improving their economic circumstances and supporting the education of their children. We treat all our porters like family!
