TOURS IN CUSCO AND MACHU PICCHU

Traditional Cusco

Cusco

Cusco's Main Square was once the Centre of the Inca Empire, as the four Roads that ran through that Empire joined up at this spot. At the height of the Inca civilization, the Inca Empire extended from what is today Ecuador and parts of Colombia, taking in all of present day Peru and Bolivia and running down to Northern Chile and Argentina.

Ruins, temples, churches, mansions and a variety of architecture makes Cusco a showcase for all the different Peruvian cultures and historical periods of our country, Pre-Inca, Inca, Colonial and Republican.

Cusco is therefore a memorable destination, full of history and culture, a City with a splendid legacy and an obligatory destination for all who travel to our country. Cusco is also the departure point for visiting the impressive Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.

The lost city of the incas

Cusco, a city with a splendid legacy, full of history and culture, is the departure point for visiting the Impressive Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, "The Lost City of the Incas", considered one of the World's Archaeological Jewels and an obligatory travel destination in Peru.Machupicchu

At a distance of 120 km (75 miles) from Cusco, in the Valley of the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu lies within the spectacular framework provided by the exuberant vegetation of the nearby jungle and the rugged landscape. The ruins are situated on the Eastern slope of Machu Picchu in two different areas: the Agricultural and the Urban ones. The latter includes the Civil sector (dwellings and canalizations), and the Sacred sector (temples, mausoleums, squares and royal houses). Although constructions show different levels of architecture, religious buildings exhibit a high degree of perfection. The constructions, often, were built with stones, and the roofs were built of tree trunks and thatched with "ichu" straw.

This program was specially prepared for those who want to make their trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience by sleeping at a hotel nearby Machu Picchu, offering them the opportunity to return to the Citadel the next day early in the morning when white clouds cover the site and are evaporated as the sun rises gradually discovering the magical Machu Picchu in front of your eyes.

Walking the inca trail

Urubamba

In the Urubamba River Valley, within a spectacular setting of lush jungle vegetation and rugged mountainous landscapes, lies Machu Picchu. The Inca Trail is just a small part of an Incan Highway system that integrated the Four Regions of the Tawantinsuyo Empire.. This trek of approximately 43 km consists of four days trekking and finishes on arrival at the Citadel of Machu Picchu.

What makes this hike so special is the stunning combination of Inca ruins, incredible views, exotic vegetation and extraordinary ecological variety.
